Plans are now in the works for our chapter's centennial celebration! The dates to put on your calendar are October 8-10, 2010. To accomodate the most alumnae in the most ideal way, it looks as if it is best to have the reunion in the fall when our Indian Summer weather is so delightful. Chapter members will have just completed fall recruitment, and we'll be able to meet the new members.
History of Theta Beta Important to the Event
So far, a planning committee is working on things like researching the history of Theta Beta over 100 years and coming up with colorful stories from each of the decades. On Friday the 8th, there will be a banquet that Tri Deltas and their guests can attend at the University Memorial Center Ballroom that is sure to be a special trip down memory lane for everyone. Be ready to sign the classics: "You Can Tell a Delta Tri About a Mile Away", "Alpha Theta Phi", and "Tri Delta True", among many others. (Don't worry: we'll provide song sheets if you've forgotten the words!)
House Tours and Social Gatherings Scheduled
On Saturday, October 9th, we will be visiting the chapter house in the morning for house tours with the collegians. The young women are so excited to be involved and hosting a warm welcome back to 1025 15th Street. There have been lots of changes to the house you remember, and it looks great! As for Saturday evening, we will suggest restaurants for the different eras of friends who want to gather and talk; choices will include the old Harvest House (now Millenium), Red Lion Inn, Chautauqua, or toher places depending on the numbers in your age group. The sooner you let us know you want to come, the sooner we can plan to accommodate your preferences.
Inform Tri Deltas about Centennial
One of the best ways to get a rousing turnout for a centennial reunion is to call a friend and get them to say "yes" to coming. Enthusiasm is contagious. We're hoping that a year and a half notice will help you to make plans to be here. This reunion will be special and unforgettable because you will see Tri Deltas you remember but may never have the occasion to see again.
