Sisterhood and Theta Beta Traditions celebrate 100 years

All of you Theta Beta Sisters need to have your 2010 calendars marked for our special Centennial Celebration on Friday, October 8-10th of next fall. The weekend will be filled with joyous shrieks of seeing friends again you may not have seen since college days. Already, I am hearing of people discovering college friendships are still solid, the funny sisters still generate laughter and the sisters still have a bond of Tri Delta loyalty that truly lasts a lifetime. Make plans now to rekindle those friendships on this unforgettable weekend.

We encourage you to make your plans now since we have blocks reserved at several local hotels and motels for this not-to-miss occasion. If you want to reserve rooms with classmates, do so now and let me know what and where you are planning to stay. Prices range from the old Holiday Inn on 28th St. , now called Boulder Outlook Inn, Millenium Harvest House, Boulder Marriott, Hotel Boulderado, Chautauqua cottages and the newer very nice St Julien Hotel at 9th and Walnut. Reconnect with your familiar classmates and be sure to let me know you are coming, where you will be staying and how to contact you.

Thursday night might be a chance for energetic ones to get to the Sink in time to write your name on the ceiling, have a Sinkburger for old times sake and get a head start on nurturing those treasured friendships. The collegiates have offered to organize tours of campus during the day on Friday or offer shuttle service up to the UMC for the big banquet gathering on Friday night at 5:30 p.m. That Friday Night Banquet will be at the UMC Ballroom where you once had your freshman orientation and will hopefully feature our National Tri Delta President, Jackie Clark, Colorado University President Welcome, and speakers from each decade representing your era and a reunion serenade from the Delta Divas (formerly the Delta Darlings). Start now to gather your pictures to put on the bulletin board at the DDD House to help us remember.

Saturday morning will be your nostalgic moment to walk through the house at 1025 15th St. for an Open House at the Tri Delta house and truly “Walk down Memory Lane” to see your old room and how many great changes have been made that enhance the charm of our grand old house. Our hearts and loving memories will be reminding us of the good old days. Hopefully, the fall weather will provide a chance to walk across campus on a crisp autumn afternoon.

That Saturday night will provide the chance for the decades to gather with spouses and guests at a pre-designated dining place whether it be Red Lion Inn, Chautauqua Dining Hall or a place in Boulder once we find out where everyone is staying.

Here is the address to mail in a $50.00 deposit to say you are coming. Mail to Sally Kingdom at 1325 Old Tale Rd., and indicate where you plan to stay. Call me at 303-444-2210. You can be getting regular updates and progress information at our blog site: http://tridelta100.blogspot.com . Some do not have email, but for those who do, we need your email address so we can contact you. For others of you who want continuing information by mail, make sure we have your correct address and indicate that you are attending when you mail in your $50.00 deposit and your contact information. I am relying on my dear Tri Delta daughter to help me keep us connected and efficiently accounted. The dinner Friday night at the UMC will be around $35.00, and at least a $20.00 donation to the chapter for the Open House on Saturday morning. Once you see how much the kitchen needs renovation, you may want to plan on a “helpful” donation that weekend.

Here’s to loyal friendships reuniting next October 2010 and make your plans soon so we can inform you of specific plans developing for the weekend. We will have an opportunity to remember those who won’t be able to be with us but with us in the spirit of the pine, pearl and pansy and DDD.

  1. Hi Sally - It is wonderful to see your name again. I hope to make it as I have another conference to attend in the US at the same time. Pamm Matthews '71
