CENTENNIAL UPDATE - Last Chance to Register!

We are building momentum and enthusiasm for this huge intergenerational event October 8-10, 2010 and wanted to bring you up to date. Checks and reservations are still coming in daily, and I urge you to get your plans made to attend! The registration deadline is Wednesday, September 15th. For those who still intend to send in your $50.00 registration, you can make checks out to “Tri Delta” and mail to Sally Kingdom, 1325 Old Tale Rd., Boulder, CO 80303. Encourage your friends to sign up as well.

The attached list of attendees is current as of today and still growing. If you notice missing friends from your era who may need another nudge, please help us by encouraging them to get in their reservations ASAP! (Remember, the cutoff deadline is September 15th).

Highlights for the Friday, October 8th Centennial Celebration Dinner at the UMC Ballroom

  • The Centennial Celebration banquet begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8th.
  • The dress is Business Casual. The UMC is offering a non-alcoholic bar set up for the 6-7 time frame, and the buffet dinner will begin at 7:00p.m. Name tags will be at the door.
  • Seating will be at tables of 8 and 10 and arranged by decades.
  • We will have souvenir booklets for you with the program included. This booklet will include a contact roster of all alumnae attending. If you want to opt out of your information being printed, please email Sally at skingdom@comcast.net by September 15th.
  • Dan Davis, the son of one our alumna members will be our photographer. Photos may be ordered and paid for on-line rather than at the dinner. Prices are reasonable.
  • Sharon Delo has arranged shuttle services on Friday night from the Millennium Hotel to the University Memorial Center where the dinner is to be held. Vans will leave at 5:30 and 5:45 and a return trip at 9:30 and 9:45. She suggests meeting at 4:00 at the Millennium for anyone who might want to have cocktails as there won't be any liquor served at the dinner. If you choose to drive your own car to campus, there is parking in a lot east of the UMC as well. You need to reply to Sharon Delo at sodelo@comcast.net and let her know you would like to use the shuttles she has reserved or call her at 303-444-1218 and reserve a spot.
  • There will be a Delta Shop set up featuring all things Tri Delta--it will be set up at the House on Saturday as well.
  • There will be a special program following dinner. The program will begin with remarks from our esteemed National President, Jackye Clark. We will have other honored guests attending like a university representative, our housemother, Darlene, and House Manager, Vic. Representatives from each of the 8 decades will share brief highlights and significance of their decade beginning with Jewel who initiated in 1938. The Delta Divas from the house will be performing. We will have a short video at the end and come to closure around 9:30.
Saturday, October 9th – Tri Delta Sorority House
  • You will want to be at the Tri Delta house at 1025 15th St. at 10:00 on Saturday morning, October 9th. There will be an open house with house tours, a special program by the actives around 11:00 and a nice brunch and special birthday cake to celebrate the remarkable 100 years of Theta Beta history. The girls living at the house will free up the parking behind the house, but it is at a premium so it might be best to car pool.
  • There will be a brief presentation from our House Corps. They will share with you plans and opportunities for contributing to the ongoing support of our lovely sorority house.
  • For spouses who are attending that weekend, they are welcome to join my husband, Lew Kingdom, on Saturday around 11:00 a.m. to tour the Shelby American Collection Museum which holds rotating casts of legendary cars. The museum is open during October from 10-4 on Saturdays for a $5.00 admission fee. Let us know if your husband would like to join the men for a tour of the museum and lunch somewhere and if they will need transportation. lkingdom@comcast.net
  • If you haven't seen the Heritage Center and have time Saturday afternoon, it is on the top floor of Old Main and really a great exhibit of CU memories. The campus has changed a lot, of course, but a walk around will certainly bring up great memories and the new facilities at the stadium are awesome.
  • The girls at the house have offered to set up campus tours over the weekend. There will be a signup in the living room at the house.
